Friday was the annual Etsy Craft Party in Dumbo, Brooklyn under the Manhattan Bridge Archway Plaza. The event was from 5-8:30 but arriving at 4:40 was an advantage in taking photographs and getting started on the craft of the night: embroidering vintage images. The Etsy staff was incredibly friendly, welcoming me in as one of the first guests and teaching me how to use the needles to stitch. Here are some photos from my quick 45 minute stop-by!
After only sitting for 10 minutes, the seats quickly filled from babies to children to gatherings of friends and couples.
The photos given were completely random, but it was time to get creative! I stitched on a hot pink striped tie for this fella!
While guests did their own photograph stitching, there were life size photographs that real artists worked on using different art mediums. Here is Tuesday Bassen working on her piece.
Though I didn’t take any photos myself, the photobooth was one creative highlight of the night! This was the colored backdrop with adorable photograph props to use!
Lastly, there were food truck treats to purchase from Coolhaus and Snowday Food trucks! To get the full effect of the night, I just had to try out these Kale, Ramp, Black Garlic Skievers with Lemon Zest from Snowday! Now THESE little pancake balls were innovative and quite a mouthful. They were delicious!
That was it for the night! Etsy, thank you for hosting the annual craft party. It’s one of my most looked forward to events of the year! Until next year…!
